CSC 192 masculine grad

Hi all.  Participating here with Case Study Challenge
Wida Miller is the muse this week.
Her card is at the end of this post.
So, my first thought was graduation, it's that time of year.
and I've been trying to challenge myself lately to do masculine cards.  So... here we go...

So the striped piece of cardstock that serves as the background was created with blended black/white acrylic paint to create sort of a slate color & SSS diagonal stripe stencil turned side ways to create horizontal background.

Meanwhile to create the 'strip of encouragement', believe it or not, I'd been tinkering around with all the encouraging phrases from Heidi Swapp mini stamp sets, trying to get this look I created here.  (BTW, I do believe I have all except one stamp set cuz i'm in looooove, Lol)

I kinda tipped it if off to the side for no reason at all, as well as added vellum behind it, for no reason at all.  lol. & I decided that the kraft base would give it a more masculine look as well as opposed to white.

Here's Wida's card
Thanks for coming on over to my bloghome.  Ya'll come back now, ya' hear...

Thank You Flower

So I am absoultely in love with a stamp set that is currently sold out and I'm kinda devastated.  Lol.  The Altenew painted flowers stamp set is to die for.  Very vintage, very versatile.

I'll be glad when it's available.  Was hoping to be able to get it in time for some Mother's day cards.  Meanwhile, I was dying to see how it would look on a card.  So I said I have to figure something out.  I pulled up the stamp set online and traced the images over my cardstock where I wanted them.  I don't know if that's a crafting no-no, lol, but what's done is done.  I adore how the card turned out.

I colored the flowers/leaves with Tim Holtz distress markers - crushed olive, worn lipstick
I trimmed the cardstock so i could have the striped edges -
I used design focus printed gift tissue from TJMaxx
The sentiment comes from Heidi Swapp mini stamp 'thank you'
of course sequins for pop.
I adore it.  Definitely will be getting the stamp set ASAP!

This Is Love CSC188

Hey guys.  Sharing today for
I enjoyed the muse for this challenge.  Love her work.
My take on it uses the diagonal stripes and floral embellishment.

I still am in love with this line from We R Memory Keepers
The only thing not from that collection is the enamel dots
& the 'this is love' ephemera.
I got that from Teresa Collins

Hope you guys enjoyed my take on the muses creation.

Case Study DT call challenge

Hi all.  Really excited to share today for the challenge/Dt call for:

I enjoy alway checking out the muse for the week and all the inspiring projects that come from them.
So for this challenge I decided to go with
I've been watching her youtube videos since i started cardmaking a few years ago.  I love her clean and simple style.
Here's my take on her card mcm 242

I used Tim Holtz distress markers
worn lipstick, crushed olive, tumbled glass, wild honey
i found a pack of what seems like 1000 ct doilies from our local thrift store.
the twine was 10 yrads for $1 @ Target
Heidi Swapp heart
I stamped/embossed the sentiment atop the watercoloring instead of before like Kristina did.

I've fallen in love with watercolor as has the rest of the craft world.
Here's Kristina's Card
(my inspiration)

Thanks for stopping in... Here's hoping that I can be a part of the wonderful inspiration I see weekly on the Case Study Blog.
